Storer of the Month: Mr Andrew MacKenzie

Here at Fort Knox Self Storage we are big on giving credit where it’s due. With so many people from all walks of life using our storage services we are fortunate enough to meet some truly amazing people.

This week we celebrate an unsung hero and storer at our Eltham site, Mr Andrew MacKenzie. Awarded with the very prestigious Order of Australia Medal Andrew has worked tirelessly to rebuild the Marysville Historical Society’s collection of art after it was completely destroyed in the catastrophic Black Saturday bushfires in 2009.

Our terrific Eltham site manager Suzanne, congratulating Andrew on his award with a bottle of champagne.

Andrew has helped gather some 20,000 items from all around the world including many from his own private collection. He is recognised for his service to the community of Marysville, to the arts, and the preservation of local history.

Andrews achievements include, author of biographies, writer, curator, lecturer & researcher. He has presented at the National Gallery of Victoria and is well versed on the history of some of Australia’s most famous artists including, Frederick McCubbin, Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts, Walter Withers and the Heidelberg School of Artists.
