Fort Knox goes ‘Around The Bay’

Last weekend saw the annual, Bupa sponsored, ‘Around The Bay’ bike ride take place with all fundraising going toward the Smith family and their ‘Ride for a child in Need campaign. With several course options available on the day, from a relatively light 20KM ‘family ride’, up to the monster – the 250KM ride which went completely around the bay. Rider’s even had to store their bike onboard the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff and vice versa depending on whether they chose the clockwise or anticlockwise route options for the longer 210km rides.

The weather turned out to be a boon for the event on Sunday, so the sun was shining and the mood was electric as a combined team from both Fort Knox Self Storage and Fort Knox Records Management took to their two wheelers and embarked on the 50KM section of the Bupa Around The Bay fundraising bike ride. For others, it was a pre-dawn get up and go for those of the 12,000 participating riders that chose to do the 250 km ride, it was a more reasonable start to the Sunday for those choosing the other route options.

Fort Knox Self Storage and Fort Knox Records put in a great team effort, had a great day and all did good times for the event. Although the best result was the thousands of dollars raised via the event for the Smith Family Charity to help them help disadvantaged children through the generous and selfless work they do. And as an added bonus for the day, no one got a fine for not wearing their helmet.
